AT&T giving free Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with Galaxy S4, S4 Active, Note II, and Note 3
Does Samsung have too many unsold tablets lying around? That certainly seems to be the case, as after Woot, who’s giving away numerous Galaxy Tabs on a discount, AT&T launched an offer as well – anyone who buys a Galaxy S4, S4 Active, Note II, or Note 3 on a new two-year contract this holiday season will get a free 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3. You’ll be able to add the tablet to an existing Mobile Share plan for $10 more per month, or get a separate data plan if you choose.
The deal will be available both online and in retail stores, and kicks off from today itself. Hit the break for the press release from AT&T.

Samsung Mobile will provide radio network infrastructure, as well as implementation services, to deliver faster and more efficient internet speeds to consumers.
Samsung ready to mass produce curved batteries
The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 3,200mAh battery. The Galaxy Round, which has exactly the same specs as the Note 3 except for the lack of stylus support, comes with a 2,800mAh battery. Why? Well, because while the Galaxy Round is curved, its battery is flat and straight like standard batteries, only elongated so it can fit underneath the back cover. This is in stark contrast to LG – its curved smartphone, the G Flex, comes with a battery capacity of 3,500mAh, considerably more than the Round’s, thanks to the use of a curved battery.
Galaxy S5 camera might not have optical image stabilization
Optical image stabilization (OIS) has become quite an important feature on smartphones these days, with manufacturers like Nokia, HTC, and LG having implemented it on their flagship devices’ cameras. The Galaxy Note 3 was originally rumored to have OIS as well, and while that didn’t pan out, the rumor mill started pointing towards the Galaxy S5 as being the first Samsung flagship that would have OIS (the Galaxy S4 Zoom already has it, but that’s more of a camera than a smartphone).

Curved screen on Samsung Galaxy Round not a gimmick, says DisplayMate
Ever since Samsung announced the Galaxy Round, the world’s first smartphone with a curved ‘flexible’ display, almost everyone has written off the curved screen as a gimmick, saying it doesn’t offer any advantage for the end-consumer. However, the folks over at DisplayMate, who are considered the experts on mobile displays and came away impressed with the Galaxy Note 3′s display, think the curved screen is actually more than a gimmick.
AllTheNotifications Manager enables full content notifications for most apps on Galaxy Gear
For a smartwatch that is supposed to be an extension of your smartphone and let you know of various notifications right on your wrist, the Galaxy Gear is surprisingly limited, with only text and email notifications showing the full text of the message. However, this is more a limitation of Samsung’s notification service on the phone rather than the watch’s, and to overcome this limitation, XDA forum member Sepiroth887 has released AllTheNotifications (ATN) Manager.
Samsung’s 12.2-inch tablet visits Bluetooth SIG with Verizon branding, benchmark reveals specs
Samsung’s often-rumored-but-not-that-anticipated 12.2-inch tablet seems to be inching closer and closer to launch – just a few days after the Wi-Fi model was certified by the Bluetooth SIG, an LTE model, SM-P905V has been given certification as well. The V at the end of the model number makes it more than likely that this is the Verizon model, hinting at Samsung wanting to make its first 12.2-inch tablet quite widely popular.

Well, in a rather surprising turn of events, Verizon has beaten other carriers and become the first to start rolling out the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4, as was expected when the update’s details were made available just a few hours back on Samsung’s website. In addition to inherent features of Android 4.3 (though there’s no OpenGL 3.0, as the S4′s GPU doesn’t support it on the hardware level), the update will add support for the Galaxy Gear, enable Band 4 LTE, update the Group Play app, improved Easy Mode, KNOX support, and a few other tweaks.

A recent study found that Apple’s new iPhone 5s and 5c beat all other smartphones in existence when it comes to touch response time – however, when it comes to touch accuracy, both of Apple’s new iPhones fell behind the Galaxy S III, Samsung’s yesteryear flagship that is now more than a year old. A touch accuracy test was done by OptoFidelity, a Finland-based tech test and measurement company, and the results were universally in its favor.

Now, thanks to a few developers over at XDA, Galaxy S4 owners can enjoy all those new features as well, as the camera app from the Note 3 has been ported over to the S4.
Galaxy Golden announced in India at a price higher than the Galaxy Note 3
Samsung o 28 October announced their Galaxy Golden in India, making India one of the few countries to get an Android-powered flip phone from Samsung. Now this would've been a good launch but the phone is priced at Rs. 51,900. The asking price of the Galaxy Golden is higher than what Samsung’s top of the line Galaxy Note 3 goes for (around Rs. 45,000 street price). We’re not sure how Samsung came to the conclusion of pricing it but it’s really expensive, irrespective of the ease of use and golden color.
Low-cost Galaxy S4 Active in the works?
The Galaxy S4 Active, with its ruggedized exterior, was no doubt a hit for Samsung, since they thought it important enough to give it an upgrade that would put a Snapdragon 800 processor underneath. But was it enough of a hit to make Samsung start working on a low-cost variant of the device? Well, that seems to be the case, as a mid-range device – sporting model number GT-I8580 – with the S4 Active’s looks has popped up on numerous places.

64-bit Exynos SoC rumoured to power Galaxy S5

You can’t run a smear campaign against a competitor in its home country and expect to get away with it, and while Samsung tried, the Taiwanese Fair Trade Commission is having none of it and has fined the Taiwanese manufacturer with a whopping $340,000, for running an internet campaign in which Samsung took to defaming HTC’s products while praising its own by hiring college students.
Samsung files four patents for flexible displays in the US
The Galaxy Round, the world’s first smartphone with a curved ‘flexible’ display, might be a prototype of sorts for Samsung, but it’s no secret that the Korean manufacturer is taking flexible displays seriously. On that front, Samsung has filed four new patents for flexible displays with the US Patent Office. The patents are rather broad in coverage, but it seems like Samsung is developing flexible displays that can be operated in various ways.

Verizon Galaxy S4 mini confirmed to carry carrier logo on home button
Back when we first got an unofficial glimpse at Verizon’s Galaxy S4 mini, we were disappointed to find that the carrier had decided to put its logo on the home button, like it did with the Galaxy Note II last year (and thankfully didn’t with the Note 3). However, we were still hoping against hope that this wouldn’t come to pass, but unfortunately, it’s really happening – Verizon has tweeted confirmation of the S4 mini’s launch on their network after Samsung’s announcement yesterday, and its ugly logo is painfully visible on the front.
Apple wants to impose sanctions on Samsung over leaked agreement

These confidential documents were not to be shared with anyone outside the legal counsel but according to Apple, over 90 Samsung employees know the details of the agreement and more than 130 lawyers from outside legal firms.

Could the Galaxy S2 still get Android 4.2?
By now, it’s become pretty clear that chances of the Galaxy S2 (and Galaxy Note) getting updated to Android 4.2 are slim to none. Our insiders said the device has reached end of support, and later Australian carrier Telstra confirmed that the update won’t be coming, at least on the 4G variant of the device. However, it’s possible there still might be a slight chance the update will arrive at some point.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear appear in Redfoo’s newest single ‘Let’s Get Ridiculous’
The Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear have been advertised heavily by Samsung, through internet and television ads, billboards, and more, with the Note 3 even becoming the official Olympics phone. However, while most of the marketing is in-your-face, Samsung seems to have done some subtle marketing as well, the best example of which we found today in the official video for Redfoo’s latest single, Let’s Get Ridiculous.
