AllTheNotifications Manager enables full content notifications for most apps on Galaxy Gear

For a smartwatch that is supposed to be an extension of your smartphone and let you know of various notifications right on your wrist, the Galaxy Gear is surprisingly limited, with only text and email notifications showing the full text of the message. However, this is more a limitation of Samsung’s notification service on the phone rather than the watch’s, and to overcome this limitation, XDA forum member Sepiroth887 has released AllTheNotifications (ATN) Manager.

Samsung to extend Galaxy Gear compatibility to more devices

Galaxy Gear was compatible with the Galaxy Note 3 but Samsung has now confirmed the compatibility with eight new devices. We knew Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II will support the smartwatch after an Android 4.3 update but Samsung has also added Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 zoom to the compatibility roster.

Download the Galaxy Gear Consumer Consultant Guide

The Galaxy Gear might not have as much functionality as we would like to have, but outside of the lack of third-party apps, there are still a fair few things you can do with Samsung’s first smartwatch. However, in case you’ve been wondering exactly what all those things are and how you’d go about using all its features, then the Galaxy Gear’s consumer consultant guide should help you get a pretty good idea.
