Samsung’s 12.2-inch tablet could go into production by the end of 2013, according to a new report published by DigiTimes. The report specifically talks about the tablet’s screen, saying that Samsung has adopted a film-based capacitive touch solution provided by China-based Shenzhen O-film Tech, and that the company hopes its global brand recognition and marketing resources will prompt other manufacturers to follow suit with similar large-screen tablets.

Samsung SM-P905 visits the FCC, upcoming Galaxy Note tablet with 12.2-inch display
Samsung SM-P905 has just popped up over at the FCC for some inspection. The tablet has been in the rumour mill for quite some time now and up till now the only hard evidence of its existence was its web profile (UAProf) on Samsung’s servers, which also confirmed that the device will feature a massive screen resolution of 2560×1600.

Samsung’s 12.2-inch tablet visits Bluetooth SIG with Verizon branding, benchmark reveals specs
Samsung’s often-rumored-but-not-that-anticipated 12.2-inch tablet seems to be inching closer and closer to launch – just a few days after the Wi-Fi model was certified by the Bluetooth SIG, an LTE model, SM-P905V has been given certification as well. The V at the end of the model number makes it more than likely that this is the Verizon model, hinting at Samsung wanting to make its first 12.2-inch tablet quite widely popular.
