The Galaxy S4, Samsung’s first 1080p flagship, has been quite a success in the market, reaching milestones of 20 million and 30 million units in two and four months respectively. The growth in sales has slowed down since then, with only around 5 million units said to have been shipped in August, and according to Samsung CEO JK Shin, more than 40 million Galaxy S4′s have been sold worldwide since its launch.
That’s a pretty high number for a device that’s been on the market only for around six months, and Samsung is probably feeling quite happy about it. Of course, that doesn’t mean the company has taken it easy, as it has launched the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear, and the Galaxy Round, the first smartphone with a curved display, in the past couple of months, though it remains to be seen whether success of the Galaxy S4 can be replicated.
